EXP2 - Week 06 Lecture
The presentation by Stuart Bull, informed me of the many different 3D tools/software that are being used in Architectural and Engineering Practices. Programs such as AutoCAD, Rhino, 3DS MAX, General Component, Revit, etc are being used more and more to help engineers/architects reach a higher degree of accuracy and provides a more "realistic" model, which in turn aids them in completion of the design and technical details faster and easier. And like our course, we are working towards completing a "realistic" model of townhall while using different modelling software to achieve our goal.
In addition, Stuart Bull presented in his lecture many projects his company - ARUP, has been involved in, including the "Water Cube", the new Hong Kong International Airport, seven of out of ten of the new high rise buildings in London, the refurbishment of the Sydney Opera House and many more. And with these he discussed the use of different BIM software which significantly helped them work out details, such as glass panelling, with greater ease compared to if they had been using 2D models.

1. Write a 250 word (maximum) statement on which options from the list above you intend to use and what advantages you think you'll get by combining them to create a realistic environment. Upload to your blog.
The options i've decided to use to obtain the information required to build the town hall stations are to take images and videos, and to sketch/label futher aspects which requires more details. The advantages of doing so is that i can look back on the photos/videos whenever i need to, and the sketchs would also help me identify places which i might have not been able to capture in the videos/photos. Also i have intentions of taking photos with people or objects that are pre-measured in them so that i would be able to gain precise measurements without causing too much disturbance to the station itself.
2. Visit and document the Town Hall subway station following the methodology outlined above.
3. Using SolidWorks create a parametric model of the Town Hall subway station. Include further models of important features.
4. Upload an image of your model to your blog.

The explosion should cause the nearest walls of the building to fly away from the explosive's centre, while at the same time the walls would hit the other objects/ walls in its path knocking those down and/or out of the way.
